Why Is the Biostone a world leading filtration media?

The Biostone has nine separate stages of filtration. To give you an idea of how fine these filters are - there is over 25,000 microns in one inch meaning there 250,000 0.1 microns in one inch. That's pretty fine to say the least!

The primary filtering media is Granulated Activated Carbon, which is highly effective at removing contaminants from water in a tightly packed structure. The Biostone Filter also includes four fibre layers which provide extra filtration in between different layers of carbon filtration.

How do I know when my filter needs to be replaced?

All the latest Jupiter / Emco Tech ionizers have a digital readout that shows how long before you need to change your filter. A filter typically lasts a family of four between 8 to 9 months and gives a good 1000+ gallons of water. We recommend changing the filter at least once every 12 months to ensure quality performance.

How often you change your filter will depend on the quality of your water and the amount of water you are using each day on average. If you smell or taste chlorine in your water after it passes through your ionizer you should change your filter. In some city water supplies the amount of chlorine and other sterilisation chemicals now used is at higher levels than before due to increases in contaminants. Also if you notice that the flow rate through your filter has decreased to a slow rate then it is probably because it is full of particles and now needs replacement.

* Recently the Biostone filter was updated with some changes to it's filtration method. As a result some of the filtration layers have been removed in place of more carbon layers. This decision was made as the past design proved to be no more effective than the updated version, yet it gave the resulting water a slightly worse taste.

Orders are mostly dispatched on the day of purchase if the order is placed by 2pm Monday - Friday. If the order is placed after 2pm, it will be dispatched on the next working day. UK Deliveries can have specified day for delivery (provided you write this in the comments section when checking out) and Saturday morning delivery. Orders placed over the weekend will be dispatched on Monday for delivery on Tuesday in most cases (excluding bank holidays). Orders qualifying for free delivery, you simply need to checkout and no extra fees will be applied to your order. All free UK courier deliveries will receive a text message if a mobile number is provided on the order. The text message will confirm a one hour delivery window of when the parcel will be delivered.

Delivery to the UK is the next working day*.

Delivery to UK Offshore Scottish Highlands is 2 days.

All courier delivered items require that someone is present at the delivery address to receive and sign for the parcel unless written consent has been provided at the time of placing the order for the parcel to be left at a specific location.

Return of Purchased Goods

You have the right to return the product within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the purchased item.

We ask customers exercising this right to return the goods unused, in the original packaging with all user information. The Distance selling regulations state that you are allowed to examine the products as you would in a shop, for example you can take a juicer of out a box and examine it, and you could switch on a juicer to listen to it, however we ask that you do not insert or pass raw food through it and make juice in it. Please do not refuse to accept the goods from the courier, accept the goods from the courier and the correct address to return the goods will be provided to you.

If the item is returned in a resalable condition, a full refund will be issued following inspection.
