The 2.5-litre pressure cooker from Kuhn Rikon offers a shallow alternative to the traditional, deep pressure cookers and is ideal for small families or couples. As with all Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers it can cook meals with 70% less energy as well as cooking your food 3 time quicker. The Duromatic Inox has 2 pressure settings making it versatile to cook softer foods through to tough meats and root vegetables. Made from high-quality stainless steel which can be used on all heat sources, including induction hobs, Kuhn Rikon has made the ultimate pressure cooker that can create a variety of sweet and savoury dishes for everyone.
Kuhn Rikon has integrated several pieces of technology to make the whole process of cooking simple. The Duromatic Inox pressure cooker has two pressure settings, this will allow you to cook safely at a low or high pressure just by adjusting the heat. At 5.8 psi the valve will increase in height and you will see the first red ring. This pressure is mainly used for cooking food such as fish, rice, lentils and most fruit. At 11.6 psi, the second red ring, the pressure is ideal for pulses, meat and root vegetables.
When the food is cooked the pressure can be released by pushing the valve back down to its original position. The lid can only be removed once all the pressure has been released, this is Kuhn Rikon's handy locking system which helps prevent injuries.
Unevenly cooked food can be such a disappointment, especially when you’ve spent a while preparing your ingredients. All Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers have a Superthermic base which helps for even heat distribution, making cooking a breeze.
All of Kuhn Rikon cookers are still designed and made in Switzerland using very high-quality materials such as 18/10 stainless steel. Because of the way the pressure cooker is engineered, when the pressure is raised in the cooker it forces liquid into the food, which can help ingredients cook faster and help tough meat become tender and moist very quickly.
You can also expect your food to have much more flavour than regular steamed foods. If you use a low heat, vegetables keep their bright colours as the vitamins are sealed into the food and you won’t need to use as much seasoning. If you use a high heat you will get caramelisation and browning of the food. This brings out much richer flavours and your pressure cooker will create a rich broth at the same time.
The Duromatic Inox 2.5L Pressure cooker can also be used to cook conventionally without the lid if desired.
High quality doesn’t just stop at the engineering of the Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker range, the design also boasts a sense of elegance with its black handles, valve housing and stainless steel body. The shallower pressure cookers are great for casseroles, curries, vegetables and smaller dishes.
The Inoxl 2.5L can create meals in minutes using up to 70% less energy and cooking time than other conventional cooking methods. You can create tasty healthy meals in just a fraction of the time, making it a handy piece of equipment in your kitchen.
For a more convenient experience, the pressure cooker features a long handle with a smaller assist handle, which gives increased leverage, making the pan easier to tip and pour. It’s also very quiet, all thanks to the spring-loaded pressure valve, which makes it easy to monitor without letting steam escape.
