The Green Star models currently available on the market are the older GS-1000, GS-2000 and GS-3000, GP-E1503 models and the latest Green Star Elite (GSE-5000) model. While there are several similarities in these models, there are some significant differences-

  • The GS-1000, GS-2000, GS-3000, GP-E1503 use the heavy duty twin gear juicing system; while, GSE-5000 uses the jumbo HD twin gear juicing system giving the maximum juice yield with the driest pulp.
  • The coarse screen for pulpy juice comes optional with GS-1000; while, with all the other models it comes as a standard.
  • GS-1000, GS-2000, GS-3000, GP-E1503 and GSE-5000 come with a warranty of 5 years.
  • The footprint of the GSE-5000 is the lowest in comparison to the other models so you will have more space in your kitchen.
  • All the accessories are available for all the models, and can be bought separately if they are not included with your juicer.
  • GSE-5000 includes a homogenising screen, bread-stick screen, fine screen and a coarse screen
  • GP-E1503 includes the accessory kit for pasta and bread-stick making
  • GS-2000 does not include the accessory kit and would need to be purchased as an extra
  • All the models are capable of juicing fruits and vegetables, from hard to fibrous stalks to the toughest leafy greens
  • All models can work as a food mill for preparation of baby foods, sorbets and nut butters.

The GSE-5000 has upgraded twin gears which provide more versatility and higher yield of juice. The jumbo twin gears with the GSE-5000 offer a three stage juicing process whereby in the first stage, crushing and cutting of fruit and vegetables takes place. In the second stage, the pulp is mixed to allow cell membranes to open easily enabling minerals to be extracted. The Gerson Therapy advises that this extra mixing is the ideal way to maximise the benefits of the the juice. In the third stage, the pulp is pressed against the screen with extreme force in order to separate the juice from the pulp. This three stage innovative technology puts the GSE-5000 juicer at the top of the Green Star range of juicers.

If you are new to juicing or on a lower budget, it would be wise to pick one of these due to the twin gear feature which will give a much higher and nutritious yield compared to any single augur juicer. There are currently only two twin gear brand of juicers available; Green Star Juicers & Angel Juicers. If budget is not a problem and you juice often, then the GSE-5000 should be your choice without doubt. Now that you know about the differences in these juicers, you are truly ready to decide one for yourself!
